CVforge was born from an alarming observation: 75% of resumes are automatically rejected by recruiting software (ATS — Applicant Tracking Systems) before a human recruiter ever reads them. Every day, thousands of qualified candidates see their applications ignored — not because they lack skills, but because their resume isn't formatted in a way these algorithms can understand.
This problem affects everyone: recent graduates who don't understand why their applications go unanswered, experienced professionals switching industries, seniors facing an increasingly digital job market. The common thread? A resume that doesn't make it past the first automated filter.

In 2025, Michelangelo found himself job hunting at 40. Despite solid professional experience and recognized skills, his applications were systematically rejected, often without the slightest explanation. Dozens of resumes sent, hours spent personalizing each cover letter, and yet: radio silence. This frustration, shared by millions of job seekers in France, came as a real shock.
Refusing to give up, he decided to understand the problem in depth. His research led him to a troubling discovery: the vast majority of companies use ATS software (Applicant Tracking Systems) that automatically filters resumes before a recruiter ever sees them. A bad format, a missing keyword, an overly creative layout — and the resume is eliminated in seconds, without ever reaching human eyes. 75% of applications suffer this fate.
Shocked by this reality, invisible to most candidates, Michelangelo decided to act. He called on human resources experts and recruiting consultants to dissect exactly how this ATS software works. Together, they identified the precise filtering criteria: document structure, section hierarchy, keyword density, format compatibility, and many other technical parameters candidates are unaware of.
At the same time, Michelangelo was watching the meteoric rise of generative artificial intelligence. He saw a unique opportunity: combining the concrete recommendations of HR experts with the power of AI to create a tool accessible to everyone — not just those who can afford a career coach at 200 euros an hour.
And so CVforge was born in November 2025. The tool analyzes each job offer in depth, identifies the expected skills and keywords, anonymizes the candidate's personal data in compliance with GDPR, then intelligently adapts the resume to maximize its chances of passing the automated filters. All in a few minutes, for a fraction of the cost of a consultant.
Today, CVforge helps job seekers throughout France and beyond take back control of their applications. What began as a personal frustration has become a mission: making sure talent and experience count for more than the format of a PDF file.
